Hi there! I’m Ellavester. People call me Ves.
My favourite things in the world are: soggy fries, writing/ blogging, building innovative concepts, hot chocolate, picnics, the French language, home-cooked meals, road trips, making ideas happen, exploring nature, making new friends, sunsets and TRAVELLING! The coolest things I’d done to date were to swim with whale sharks and climb a real waterfall. But I’m not stopping here! Click here to see a wholesome list of the things I want to do/ experience before I kick it.
I had the privilege of pursuing my interest in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Diploma in Tourism and Resort Management). In 2012, I decided to fulfil my primary school ambition of becoming an overseas student (and a tourist at the same time) so I packed my bags and left for Aotearoa, New Zealand. There, at the University of Otago, I graduated in December 2013 with a Business degree (majoring in Tourism and minoring in Marketing) and worked hard to get onto the Dean’s List.
I got my first job at the age of 16 waiting tables in a restaurant. Since then, I worked part-time throughout my polytechnic and university days, trying out interesting roles. I worked as a senior level recruitment executive, hotel management trainee, sales assistant, digital marketing intern and even a babysitter of 5 children. I am now part of the mobile specialist team at Airwave (Omnicom Media Group), working with the OMD planning teams, media owners and other internal teams (Social and Programmatic) to formulate tactical and strategic mobile media plans, manage mobile projects such as production and creative services, and internally grow the knowledge base of Airwave within OMD and PHD – a career move I have not regretted.
I would not call myself a mobile marketing expert as I am still learning everyday, be it the latest industry trends, exciting ad formats or new audience targeting technologies. I just love blending powerful language & beautiful visuals, to help brands narrate who they are, what they do and why they do it.
Feel free to explore my website to find out more. Call me up for a great adventure or anything cool! And yes, you can bribe me with Gastronomia’s double chocolate cookies –and only that.
